"Pridmore, Reuben, Koputna, was born in Northamptonshire England in 1829, and arrived in South Australia by the ship Mariner in 1846. After working there as a butcher and a stonemason for a time, he came over to Victoria when the Mt Alexander goldfields broke out, and followed mining there at Bendigo. After a trip to Adelaide he went to Daylesford, and was engaged at ground sluicing for a number of years, when, going to Koputna, he selected 160 acres of land and commenced farming, which he now carries on."

"Reuben PRIDMORE emigrated to AUSTRALIA in 1846, disembarking at Port Adelaide, South Australia, from the ship "Mariner". Reuben PRIDMORE has numerous descendants, mostly in Victoria."
